Retraction and Correction Policy

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (IJMR) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for handling corrections, retractions, and other post-publication issues.

1. Corrections Policy

IJMR may publish corrections when errors are identified in a published article that do not affect the overall validity or conclusions of the research.

Corrections may include:

  • Errors in author names, affiliations, or contact details.
  • Minor factual or typographical errors.
  • Errors in figures, tables, or other published information.

A correction notice will be published and linked to the original article to ensure transparency. The original article will remain available with the correction information.

2. Retraction Policy

An article may be retracted when serious concerns affect the integrity, reliability, or ethical status of the published research, including:

  • Proven plagiarism or significant duplication of published content.
  • Fabrication or falsification of data.
  • Major errors that invalidate research findings.
  • Unethical research practices.
  • Authorship disputes or serious publication ethics violations.
  • Failure to disclose significant conflicts of interest.

3. Retraction Process

When a possible reason for retraction is identified:

  • The editorial team investigates the concern carefully.
  • Authors are contacted and provided an opportunity to respond.
  • Available evidence is reviewed according to ethical publishing standards.
  • The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial board, where necessary.

4. Retraction Notice

If an article is retracted:

  • A separate retraction notice will be published.
  • The notice will clearly explain the reason for retraction.
  • The original article will remain available with a prominent "Retracted Article" label.
  • The retraction notice will be permanently linked to the original publication record.

5. Retraction Record and Transparency

Retracted articles will remain part of the journal’s publication record with a clear retraction notice. The retraction information will include the reason for retraction and the date of the retraction to ensure transparency for readers and researchers.

6. Withdrawal Before Publication

Manuscripts may be withdrawn before publication in cases involving:

  • Duplicate submission.
  • Ethical concerns.
  • Serious violations of journal policies.
  • Author request with valid justification before final publication.

Withdrawal decisions are made by the editorial team after proper evaluation.

7. Ethical Standards

IJMR handles all correction and retraction cases according to COPE Retraction Guidelines to ensure fairness, transparency, and protection of the academic record.
