Refund Policy

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (IJMR) is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process for authors and readers, particularly in relation to fees paid for article submission, processing, or print requests. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be granted and the procedure for requesting a refund.

1. Eligibility for Refund

Refunds may be granted under the following circumstances:

  • Before Peer Review: If a manuscript is withdrawn before the peer review process begins, any applicable submission or processing fees paid will be refunded in full.

  • After Peer Review: If a manuscript is withdrawn after the peer review process begins but before acceptance for publication, a partial refund may be granted, depending on the stage of the review process. The editorial team will determine the amount based on the administrative costs incurred up to that point.

  • Rejected Manuscripts: If a manuscript is rejected before acceptance, no refund will be provided for submission or processing fees, as these fees cover administrative costs associated with the review process.

  • Failure to Meet Guidelines: If a manuscript is found to violate the journal’s submission guidelines or ethical standards (e.g., plagiarism, duplicate submission), no refund will be granted.

  • Withdrawal After Acceptance: If an article is accepted for publication and the author requests to withdraw it, no refund will be provided. This is due to the significant editorial, peer review, and publishing processes already completed at that stage.

2. Refund Procedure

  • Submission of Refund Request: To request a refund, authors must submit a formal request to the editorial team via email at journal@hostajournal.com. The request should include the manuscript title, ID, the reason for withdrawal or refund, and the stage of the submission process.

  • Processing Time: Refund requests will be processed within 7–10 business days. The refund will be made using the same method of payment used by the author for the initial transaction.

  • Notification: Authors will be notified via email once the refund has been processed. If the refund is not approved, the author will be provided with a detailed explanation of the decision.

3. Non-Refundable Fees

The following fees are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Processing Fees for Accepted Articles: Once an article has been accepted for publication, all associated processing fees are non-refundable, even if the manuscript is withdrawn or rejected at a later stage.

  • Bulk Print Orders: If printed copies of an article have already been processed and shipped, no refund will be issued. In the case of damaged or incorrect copies, the author may request a replacement.

  • Late Payment Fees: If an author fails to pay any invoiced fees by the specified deadline, the late payment fee is non-refundable.

4. Payment Disputes

If there is a dispute regarding a payment or transaction, the author must provide sufficient evidence (e.g., transaction receipts, bank statements) to support their claim. The journal's editorial team will investigate the matter and resolve it in accordance with the journal's financial policies.

5. Exceptions to the Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued in exceptional cases where there are clear errors on the part of the journal, such as:

  • Technical Issues: If a manuscript is incorrectly processed, or if the journal experiences significant technical problems that prevent the manuscript from being reviewed, accepted, or published as agreed, the journal will issue a refund or offer an alternative solution.

  • Editorial Mistakes: If there is an error on the part of the editorial board (e.g., a manuscript is erroneously rejected or delayed without proper communication), a refund or compensation may be offered.

6. Refund for Subscription and Membership Fees

If the journal offers any subscription-based services or membership plans, and the author or subscriber decides to cancel the service before its term ends, a refund may be provided based on the remaining time on the subscription plan. However, any service already rendered is non-refundable.

7. Conclusion

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research aims to provide clear guidelines and fair handling of refund requests. Our commitment to transparency ensures that authors can make informed decisions regarding their submissions, while also recognizing the operational costs involved in maintaining a high-quality publication process.

8. Editorial Independence and Transparency

Payment of any applicable fees, including Article Processing Charges (APCs), does not influence editorial decisions, peer review outcomes, or acceptance of manuscripts. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic quality, originality, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal scope.

IJMR maintains transparent financial practices and communicates all applicable charges and refund conditions clearly to authors before publication.
