Abstract

Biomedical research is essential for advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care. However, ethical considerations in biomedical research are paramount to ensure the protection of participants, the integrity of data, and the overall societal benefit of research. This article provides a cross-disciplinary examination of the ethical frameworks applied in biomedical research, focusing on principles such as informed consent, confidentiality, harm minimization, and the role of institutional review boards (IRBs). It also explores the challenges posed by emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and gene editing, and proposes guidelines for ensuring ethical compliance in the rapidly evolving field of biomedical research.
